·        For the first time 45 examination centers in schools to be managed by women staff named as Savitri Bai Phule

The State Government has given status of second language to Sanskrit and now efforts should be made to make it more practical and simple so that it could be popularized amongst the masses. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur stated this after releasing the Newsletter of H.P. Board of School Education Dharamshala here today.

Chief Minister said that the effort of the Board in bringing out the Newsletter in Hindi, Sanskrit and English was indeed laudable. He said that the Government was committed to ensure that studies of the students do not suffer due to lockdown in the wake of corona pandemic. He said that the Doordarshan Gianshala Programme has also been launched by the State Government to provide home teaching facility to the students.

Jai Ram Thakur said that endeavours should be made by the Board to install CCTV Cameras in all the examination centres so as to discourage the students from using unfair means during the examinations. He also appreciated the efforts of the Board for providing an opportunity to the students who have failed in March, 2019 examinations to re-appear in the examinations alongwith State Open School candidates to save their academic year.

Chief Minister also felt the need to promote moral education, vedic maths and vocational education in school curriculum.

Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj welcomed the Chief Minister on the occasion.

Chairman, H.P. Board of School Education Dharamshala Dr. Suresh Kumar Soni while detailing the various activities of the Board said that it was for the first time that 45 examination centers in the schools would be managed by women staff named as ‘Savitri Bai Phule’ in the honour of first female teacher of India and founder of first Indian girl school in Pune in 1848. He said that as many as 1,09,315 samplings were also planted in premises of various schools of the State.

Director Higher Education Dr. Amarjit Sharma and other senior officers of Education Board and Department were also present on the occasion.
