Special summary revision of photo electoral roll in all 68 Assembly Constituencies for Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections would be undertaken from 1st January 2020. This was informed by a spokesperson of Chief Electoral Officer office, here today.
The draft of photo voter lists has been published on December 16, 2019 at each polling station set up in Himachal Pradesh and in the offices of the concerned Electoral Registration Officer (SDM/ADM) Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (Tehsildar/Naib Tehsildar). Draft voter lists will be available till 15 January 2020 for free inspection at the aforesaid locations and for filing various types of claims and objections forms 6,7,8 and 8A, whichever is appropriate, would be available.
The spokesman said that the claims and objections would be settled by 27 January 2020. The final publication of the photo voter lists will be done on February 7, 2020.
He said that to get information about registering the name in photo voter list, citizens can call on toll free number 1950 of the Election Department; from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm, either on landline or mobile phone. A person can also confirm his/her name on the departmental website “http://ceohimachal.nic.in”.
E-registration facility for registration and correction of name is also available on National Voter’s Service Portal and department’s website.
He has urged the local political parties, NGOs, mahila mandals, yuva mandals and citizens of the state, to inspect the photo voter lists till January 15, 2020.
