The newly appointed member of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Bharti Kuthiala called on Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Raj Bhavan, today.
The Governor congratulated Bharti Kuthiala on her appointment as a member of the CBFC. He inspired her and the Him Cine Society to work more diligently and effectively on the subjects related to the films in future. He said that for the first time in the history of Himachal Pradesh, a female has been nominated for the Central Board of Film Certification which was a matter of pride.
He said that the issue of setting up a separate department for theater at the university level would be considered. He said that promotion of regional folk art would definitely provide a good platform to the local artists.
Bharti Kuthiala apprised the Governor about the activities of the ‘Him Cine Society Ek Soch’ organization. She said that her aim was to re-establish Bhartiya sanskriti and aesthetic and ethical values through the medium of the cinema. Him Cine Society aims at promoting social interest and Indian culture along with Himachalis public life. She said that the aim of the society was to promote persons interested in art and cinema and those young people willing and excited in film production.
She also presented a set of books authored by her to the Governor on the occasion.
Treasurer of the Him Cine Society Anuj Pant and Member Kapil Sharma were also present on the occasion.
