An official spokesman said here today that news has been reported in a section of press giving an impression that the State Government was contemplating to start Covid-19 test of the people visiting the State.
The spokesman said that as of now there was no such plan of the State Government as most of the Covid-19 cases reported during the last about two months have increased due to laxity adopted on the part of general public, particularly during the social gatherings such as marriages etc. He said that the State Government has now asked all the Deputy Commissioners to strictly follow the condition of maximum fifty persons in any such events. He said that the State Government has also suspended all it public functions keeping in view spike in the number of covid cases. He said that all the government functions were being held virtually and there too the limit had been fixed for maximum 50 persons only.
He said that the Government had also decided to take stern action against those not using face masks in public places. He said that action was also being taken against those responsible for inviting social gatherings that exceeds the laid down limit. He said that Chief Minister was himself daily monitoring the Covid-19 situation in the State.
The Spokesman said that the Government had also directed all the senior Doctors to visit Covid wards of hospitals to ensure proper treatment of covid patients. He said that temporary manpower was also being hired to ensure adequate number of staff for proper treatment of covid patients. He said that steps were also being taken to involve private hospitals and laboratories for testing and treatment of patients.
He said that an effective mechanism had also been evolved to provide proper treatment and care to covid patients undergoing treatment at their homes. He said that Government had also decided to regularly make telephone calls to covid patients undergoing home treatment for giving morale boost to them.
