Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has urged the people of the State who were stranded in different parts of the State and outside the State to remain stationed where every they are as the State Government was not allowing any intrastate and inter-state movement in wake of the Corona pandemic.
Chief Minister said this while interacting with the Deputy Commissioners through video conferencing from Shimla today to take stock of the situation in wake of curfew in the State due to outbreak of Corona epidemic in the country as well as the State. He said that movement of people within the State from one district to another and also from outside the State must be checked at any cost.
Jai Ram Thakur said that those persons who had already entered the State must be kept in quarantine centres established in the border areas itself so that they may not mix with the other people. He said that adequate arrangements must be made for proper food and shelter to the stranded people. He said that the district administration must ensure that there was no inconvenience to the people and sufficient essential commodities were made available to them. He said that proper hygiene and sanitation must be ensured in the make shift camps such as schools, DIET buildings etc to facilitate the stranded people. He also asked the Deputy Commissioners to ensure proper social distancing to be ensured between person to person in these camps.
Chief Minister asked the Deputy Commissioners to motivate such people to remain stationed wherever they are and ensure proper arrangement for their food and shelter. He said that they should also be motivated and assured that the Government was committed for their better care and they need not to worry. He said that there was no dearth of funds for providing adequate relief to the stranded people. He also asked the Deputy Commissioners to involve the Panchayati Raj Institutions to come forward to identify those people who have come home from outside the State and even from one district to another.
Jai Ram Thakur said that in order to facilitate the people of the State stranded in Delhi or Chandigarh, Control Rooms have been established in both the Himachal Bhawan situated and New Delhi and Chandigarh. He said that as far as possible, efforts would be made to provide food and shelter in these Himachal Bhawans.
Chief Secretary Anil Kumar Khachi asked the Deputy Commissioner to totally discourage exodus from one district to another and also from other States. He said that the labourers and other workers from the other State must be discouraged to travel outside the State and should be kept in the camps.
Director General of Police S.R.Mardi said that no vehicle carrying people for other State would be allowed to enter the State and strict action would be taken against the violator.
Additional Chief Secretaries Manoj Kumar and R. D. Dhiman, Director Tourism Yunus and Director Information and Public Relations Harbans Singh Brascon were also present on the occasion.
