CM to preside over State level Constitution Day function

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur would preside over a State level function of the 70th Constitution Day to be organised on 26th November,2019 at Gaiety Theatre, Shimla. A meeting for the successful organisation of the Constitution day was held under the chairmanship of Secretary General Administration Department, Devesh Kumar here today to chalk out the plan for the State level function.

During the meeting it was decided that several activities would be organised at State and district level to mark the occasion. The State level activities would include declamation contest, skit on fundamental duties, two expert speakers to deliver lecture on fundamental duties, a film would also be showcased on this occasion and pledge on Fundamental duties would be administered in educational institutions and offices.

Devesh Kumar said that the activities would last upto Ambedkar Jayanti on 14th April,2020. He informed that the activities which would be taken up during this period would include ward wise awareness programmes in Urban Local Bodies, mock parliament and lecture by eminent personalities would be organised at schools, legal literacy camps, awareness walks and rallies and special gram sabhas on fundamental duties.

He also directed the concerned departments to review the activities taken by them on monthly basis.
