Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today paid tribute to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi at Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum in New Delhi.
Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said on the occasion that the supreme sacrifice made by late Indira Gandhi for the integrity and unity of the country would always be remembered.
He said that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi has taken many unprecedented decisions as Prime Minister which gave a new direction to countries development. He said that late Indira Gandhi would always be remembered for her great personality and for the decisions taken in the interest of people of country.
Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that Himachal was established as a state on the map of India only by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. It was due to her decision that Himachal Pradesh has got proper direction towards the development. He said that the people of Himachal would always remember former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for providing full statehood to Himachal and fulfilling the long pending demand of the people of the state.
On this occasion, he showed keen interest in the displayed items, photographs etc. related to former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and their family members at Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum and obtained detailed information in this regard.
Wife of Chief Minister Kamlesh Thakur, MLAs Anirudh Singh, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Raghubir Singh Bali and Chaitanya Sharma, Political Advisor to Chief Minister Sunil Sharma, office bearers of various organizations of Indian National Congress and representatives of Indian Youth Congress were present on the occasion.
