Inaugurates and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs. 59 crore
Announces opening of PHC in Bandli and Health Sub-Center in village Bina
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated the State Level Suket Devta Mela, Sundernagar at Jawahar Park and participated in the procession from Shukdev Vatika to Jawahar Park, Sundernagar in Mandi district today.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated Rs. 37 Lakh Maharana Pratap Memorial, Rs. 10.69 crore Cluster University building in MLSM College, Rs. 2.10 crore Science Block of Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Rs. 5.70 crore hostel building for specially abled students at Government Industrial Training Institute Sundernagar and Rs. 8.11 crore improvement work of Sundernagar-Palahi via Bina road. He also laid the foundation stone worth Rs. 31.79 crore of drinking water supply scheme for various panchayats of Jadol-Kangu area.
While addressing a public meeting at Jawahar Park the Chief Minister said that the state had a rich tradition of fairs and Suket Devta Mela is being celebrated since princely times. Organized in the Taposthali of Shukdev Rishi, this fair is a major center of faith and tradition in deity culture.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government has enhanced the grant for District, State, National and International level fairs in the state. The grant for district level fairs has been increased from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 50,000, for state level fairs from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 1.5 lakh, for national level fairs from Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 3 lakh and for international level fairs from Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh.
The Chief Minister said that Sundernagar area had witnessed unprecedented development during the tenure of the present State Government. He said that construction of Government Degree College building worth Rs. 8 crore and Block Office has also been opened at Nihri to facilitate the people of Nihri and nearby areas. He said that the work of drinking water schemes worth about Rs. 23 crore for Sundernagar town and Rs. 26 crore for Dehar and adjoining areas was in progress. He said that Rs. 12 crore Mother-Child Health Center at Sundernagar has been dedicated to the people and Rs. 10.57 crore Parking Complex was being constructed at Chatrokhdi.
Chief Minister announced upgradation of Government High School Manjkhetar to Government Senior Secondary School, Government Middle School Churudh, Bayla and Panjolath to Government High Schools and Government Primary School Gahar to Government Middle School. He announced opening of Primary Health Center in village Bandli and Health Sub-Center in village Bina. He also announced to upgrade Government Ayurvedic Hospital Purana Bazar to a 10 beded hospital and to provide a vehicle to Municipal Council Sundernagar for disposal of garbage. He also announced to start Science classes in Government Senior Secondary School Presi and Government Senior Secondary School Chai Ka Dohra.
MLA Sundernagar Rakesh Jamwal welcomed the Chief Minister and also thanked him for the developmental works in Sundernagar area. He said that the all-round development of the state has been ensured during the tenure of the present state government. Many ambitious schemes have been started by the State government, benefiting every section of the society.
MLA Balh Inder Singh Gandhi, Representatives of Municipal Council, Panchayat Samiti, Suket Sarva Devta Samiti, office bearer of BJP Mandal, Senior officers of various departments were present on the occasion among others.
