Announces opening of PHC at Shikawari
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while performing puja at temple of Dev Vishnu Matlora at Shikawari in Seraj Vidhan Sabha area of Mandi district today announced opening of Primary Health Centre at Shikawari to provide basic health facilities to the local people nearer to their homes.
Chief Minister said that Rs 5.12 crore lift irrigation scheme in GP Shikawari would go a long way in providing better irrigation facilities to the farmers of the area. He said that with better facilities of irrigation, the farmers would be able to opt for cultivation of cash crops. He said that this would ensure better income to the farmers of the area.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the State was known as Dev Bhoomi, as almost every village of the State has its own deity. He said that the deity culture of the State was not only unique, but it also has great influence on the lives of the people of the State.
Chief Minister said that the present tenure of the State Government has been full of achievements and accomplishments. He said that Grihini Suvidha Yojna, Sahara Yojna, HIMCARE, Shagun Yojna etc, have been proving boon to the vulnerable sections of the society. He said that the State Government was spending over Rs 1300 crore on providing social security pensions as compared to Rs 400 crore spent by the Congress Government during their tenure.
Earlier the Chief Minister performed inaugurations and foundation stones of five developmental projects worth over Rs. 8 crore at Shikawari in Thunag tehsil of Mandi district today.
Chief Minister inaugurated Rs. 5.12 crore lift irrigation schemes in GP Shikawari, Rs. 66 lakh augmentation of WSS LOP Shikawari in GP Shikawari and Rs. 1.05 crore Inspection Hut at Shikawari of Jal Shakti Vibhag. He also planted a sapling of Deodar in the premises of newly constructed Jal Shakti Inspection Hut.
Jai Ram Thakur laid foundation stones of Rs. 90 lakh 35 meters span jeepable bridge over Bakhali khad at Khedi in village Shikawari and Rs. 39 lakh Panchayat Samudayik Kendra Lehthach at Ratti Dhar.
Chairman CD Cooperative Welfare Society Kamal Rana welcomed the Chief Minister and others on the occasion.
Wife of Chief Minister and Chairperson Hospital Welfare Section H.P. State Red Cross Society Dr. Sadhana Thakur was also present on the occasion among others.
