Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has congratulated Dr. Lal Singh, Director of Himalayan Research Group, an NGO based at Shimla for being selected for prestigious Jamnalal Bajaj Award for Application of Science and Technology for Rural Development-2021, today.
Chief Minister said that this was a rare achievement for a person coming from rural background. He said that this was for the first time that a scientist from the State has been selected for this prestigious award instituted in 1978 and constitutes of a cash prize of Rs. 10 lakh, trophy and citation.
It would be pertinent to mention here that Dr. Lal Singh belongs to district Mandi of the State and did his P.hd in Botanical Sciences after graduating from Vallabh Government College Mandi.
