- Chief Minister urges to kill the demon of drug abuse from society
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today celebrated Dussehra at famous Jakhu temple by burning the effigy of Ravana, Magnadh and Kumbhakarna.
While interacting with the media on the occasion, Chief Minister said that Dussehra festival signifies the victory of good over evil, truth over false and dharma over adharma. The Dussehra festival inspire us to follow the path of dharma (righteousness) and truth as in the end truth always wins, he added. He urged the people to work collectively to kill the demon of drug abuse from the society.
He laid foundation stone of Nav Grah Mandir to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 15 lakh and also inaugurated a Museum at Jakhu temple Complex.
Earlier, the Chief Minister and other dignitaries were honoured by the temple committee on the occasion.
Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Chief Whip and Convener Jan Manch Narender Bragta, Chairman HIMFED Ganesh Dutt, Deputy Mayor Municipal Corporation Shimla Rakesh Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kashyap, SP Omapati Jamwal were present on the occasion among others.
