17 November declared paid holiday for Municipal Council elections

The state government has declared 17 November, 2019 as paid holiday within the meaning of Section 25 of Negotiable Instrument Act 188 (in case poll is held) in the areas of Municipal Council Solan and Nalagarh in district Solan and Rampur in district Shimla, where bye-election is scheduled to be held to fill up the vacant seat in the above mentioned Municipal Council.

A Spokesperson of the state government said here today that all government offices, boards, corporations, educational institutions and industrial establishments of the state under Industrial Disputes Act and shops will remain closed on this day in the above mentioned areas.

He clarified that special casual leave may be given to those employees who are working in different places in the state but have a right to vote in these Wards on the production of certificate from the concerned Presiding Officer that the employee has actually cast his/her vote.
