Jal Shakti Minister Mahender Singh and Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said here today said that no irregularities were found in the Patwari recruitment examination, which was cleared by the judgement passed by the Hon’ble Himachal Pradesh High Court today. The leaders of opposition were raising unnecessary hue and cry in this regard, which was completely baseless.

Ministers said that more than three lakh candidates had applied for appearing in this examination and about three lakh candidates actually appeared in it for approximately 1200 vacancies and 1150 candidates emerged successful but the further process had to kept in abeyance in view of the pendency of the petition. On 17th November 2019, written examination was conducted through various Deputy Commissioners in different districts. Few candidates challenged the recruitment of the Patwaris in the Hon’ble High Court, alleging irregularities in the recruitment. State Government filed a detailed reply on this appeal and stated that no irregularity was done in this regard. They said that one of the candidate, who had challenged the appeal had not even appeared in the examination.

Mahender Singh and Suresh Bhardwaj said that on 8th January, 2020, Hon’ble H.P. High Court asked to further investigate the matter and detailed investigation report in this regard was filed by the CBI on 29th May, 2020. Hon’ble High Court specifically observed that the CBI has looked into the matter and has submitted a detailed report and as per this report nothing objectionable is there with regard to the conduct of the examination and selection process. It was observed by the Hon’ble Court that nothing survives in the case in view of the report of the CBI and the petition was dismissed.

Ministers said that no irregularity was done in the recruitment and the State Government was ready to get the investigation done in this regard by any State or Central agency. They said that complete transparency was followed while conducting this examination.  They said that the State Government ensures transparency in recruitment and other such matters without making any compromise.
