Sh. Sanjay Gupta, IAS, Hon’ble Chairman HPSPCB today held a review meeting with the HPSPCB officials at Regional Office Baddi. A brief presentation was given by the Chief Environmental Engineer, Regional Office Baddi regarding the current status of industries & their day to today functioning of HPSPCB. The Chairman reviewed the position of compliance of industrial units and gave directions to ensure that all units are compliant to various pollution norms under Water Act, Air Act and Environment Protection Act. He directed that special focus be laid on regulation of municipal bodies in the area such that solid waste management, plastic waste disposal and sanitation is carried out properly by them in urban areas.


An Interaction meeting was also held under the Chairmanship of Sh. Sanjay Gupta, IAS, Hon’ble Chairman, HPSPCB with Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh Industrial Association on 09.01.2023 at BBNIA Office, Jharmajri, Baddi Distt. Solan HP. Members of industries association participated & raised different issues/problems faced by the industries regarding their operation and suggestion for improvement regarding speedy disposal of consent applications and Environmental Compliances. On the behalf of industries association President BBNIA Sh. Rajender Guleria and Sh Rajesh Gupta president of HDMA represented the current scenario of industries in the BBN area & carious concerns. Further, the house was open for discussions, & some important issues were raised such as Common Effluent Treatment Plant functioning & regarding API disposal. After open discussion with industries association, Sh. Apoorv Devgan, IAS Member Secretary, HP State Pollution Control Board addressed the meeting and give his valuable inputs with regards to Environment issues & various initiatives taken by the HPSPCB such as Him-GRIH (Himachal Pradesh Green Stat Rating Initiative for Hotels), Notification of SOPs and documentary requirements for industries for consents, authorisations and registrations issued by the State Board, Auto renewal of Consent for Green Category of Industries to ensure Ease of Doing Business, Monitoring of industries through drones. He further informed that Sampling module of PCB has been upgraded for sample collection through mobile application and for transparency. At the end of the meeting, the Chief Guest Sh. Sanjay Gupta, IAS, Hon’ble Chairman of HP State Pollution Control Board, addressed the meeting & gave his invaluable comments regarding the strengthening of the State Board & also assured the co-operation of pollution control board with the industries. He urged the industries towards self-regulation in order to reduce pollution and ensure conservation of the environment. The Chairman, HPSPCB also requested BBNIA to train their staff so that member industry can avail the facility to file the case in HP-OCMMS portal with ease and avoid any inconvenience, aiming at Ease of Doing Business. He assured that various concerns of the industries shall be examined in due course and that he looked forward to their cooperation in making HP  a pollution free state.
