Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Rs. 64,000 crore PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission for the country from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh today.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said the country has achieved a major milestone of 100 crore vaccine doses in its fight against the Corona epidemic. With the blessings of Baba Vishwanath, with the unwavering glory of Maa Ganga, with the unshakable faith of the people of Kashi, the campaign of free vaccine for all was progressing successfully, the Prime Minister said.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur thanked the Prime Minister for launching for this mega Mission which would go a long way in strengthening the health care network from village to block level in the next four to five years. He said that this Mission would ensure specialized health services to the people nearer to their homes.
Jai Ram Thakur said that Health and Wellness Centres would be opened under this mission in villages and cities under the Mission having facilities for early detection of diseases. He said that facilities like free medical consultation, free tests and medicines would be made available in these centres. He said that this would ensure strengthening of health infrastructure in rural areas of the State.
The Chief Minister thanked the Prime Minister for ensuring that special focus would be laid on strengthening health infrastructure under this Mission in hilly States like Himachal Pradesh.
