Member Rajya Sabha and BJP National President J.P Nadda today visited the Swarnim Himachal Kala Mahotsav at Hotel Lalit at New Delhi. He visited the exhibition put up by the Himachali artisans and had detailed interaction with the artists and craft persons. The Mahotsav was a unique display of Himachali art and craft and the part of year long Swarnim Himachal celebrations and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate the 50 years of statehood of Himachal Pradesh and 75 years of Independence respectively. The event was being organised from 4 to 9 December, 2021 jointly by the Government of Himachal Pradesh and Hotel Lalit. An initiative of Mallika Nadda and Jyotsna Suri, this Mahotsav had given a wide platform to Himachali artisans to showcase their talent and work to the residents of national capital. Folk artists of districts of Kullu, Sirmour and Kinnaur were special attractions of the event. Prominent personalities Master Chef Nand Lal, National awardees Lalita Vakeel, Anita Kumari, who have won awards at national and international level for their Fine work on Chamba Rumaal were part of the exhibition. Himachali artisans have put up stalls showcasing Himachali handicrafts, Chamba Rumaal, woodcraft, metal craft, Kangra paintings, Kinnauri and Kullu shawls etc. Folk dance and folk music of the state was also showcased besides Himachali cuisine including Sepu Badi, Rajma Madra, Chambyal Palda etc. had also been included in the hotels menu and people could taste delicacies of the state. MP and State BJP President Suresh Kashyap, MP Kishan Kapoor, Chairperson Special Olympics Bharat Mallika Nadda, Chairperson Lalit Group of Hospitality Jyotsna Suri and Principal Resident Commissioner S.K Singla accompanied J.P. Nadda. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated this Mahotasav on 4 December, 2021. Dignitaries from various embassies, prominent citizens of Delhi and senior officers of the Centre government also visited the Mahotsav.
