HPMFDC disburses Rs. 130 crore to 4980 beneficiaries
A meeting of Board of Directors of Himachal Pradesh Minorities Finance and Development Corporation (HPMFDC) held here today under the chairmanship of Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment Department M. Sudha Devi.
She said that the corporation was formed with the aim of social, economic and educational upliftment of the minorities in the state. Through this corporation financial assistance was given to the minority youths for providing vocational and employment oriented education. ‘The corporation also helped the minority youth in setting up self-employment ventures for income generating activities’, She said.
M. Sudha Devi said that the corporation so far has disbursed loans worth Rs. 78.90 crore to 3155 beneficiaries belonging to minority communities. Apart from this Rs 1.04 crore was disbursed as education loans to 31 beneficiaries. The corporation has also disbursed loans worth Rs. 50.76 crore to 1794 disabled beneficiaries. She said that total loans worth Rs. 130.07 crore have been disbursed to 4980 beneficiaries till October, 2022 by the Corporation.
The Secretary also congratulated the officers of the Corporation for earning a dividend of Rs. Four crore in the year 2020-21. She said that against the target of Rs. 781 lakh fixed by the National Minorities Finance and Development Corporation for the year 2022-23, the Corporation has achieved a target of Rs. 958.95 lakh by October 31, 2022.
Managing Director of the Corporation Vivek Bhatia, Manager C.L. Sharma and other members of the board were present in the meeting.
