Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal flagged off the Jeevandhara-Shravan vehicle from the HP Secretariat complex today. This vehicle will ensure early detection and screening of hearing problems of people across the State.
Health Minister said that this vehicle is equipped with state-of-the-art equipments like audio meter, oto acoustic emission etc. Two technicians, a data entry operator and a driver have also been made available in this vehicle.
He said that this vehicle would be sent to various health blocks and hospitals of the state where patients suffering from hearing problems would be examined and referred to suitable institutions for hearing aid operation and treatment through the equipment installed in this vehicle. He said that various hi-tech equipments setup in this vehicle would also help in implantation of hearing machine in the elderly and installation of cochlear implants in children.
The Health and Family Welfare Minister said that under Mukhya Mantri Nirog Yojana, there is a provision for annual examination of ears of all people above 18 years of age. He said that the State Government is committed to provide better health services to the people of the State near their doorstep and several ambitious steps have been taken in this direction.
On this occasion Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare Subhasish Panda welcomed the Health Minister.
Vice Chairman of State Planning Board Ramesh Chand Dhawala, Mission Director NHM Hem Raj Bairwa, Director of Health and Family Welfare Department Dr. Anita Mahajan, State Program Officer Dr. Gopal Chauhan and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
