A delegation of Sirmaur’s Hati Vikas Manch led by its President Pradeep Singh Singta met the Governor, Shiv Pratap Shukla at Raj Bhawan today and handed over the memorandum to him urging for tribal status to the Hati community at the earliest.

The Governor said that the Hati community carried forward their movement in a peaceful manner and their demand would be placed forth for early consideration to the authorities concerned.

President of the Manch, said that the Hati community got  an approval for the said category on 14 September, 2022 by the GoI, and was passed by the Lok Sabha on 18 December, 2022.  The delegation urged the Governor to initiate measures for early grant of the status.

Sirmaur Hati Vikas Manch also honoured the Governor by presenting him a traditional Dangra (weapon) and a shawl.
