Greetings!!!
We are happy to share with you that French (Paris based) Award Winning Music Composer Marc Marder has come on board to compose music for a Shimla based film titled ‘Amar Colony’. Marc has composed for over 100 films and 8 of his films have premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in the past few years.
“I am extremely happy to have Marc on board for this film. I have heard & appreciated his work and this is truly a dream come true! He liked the film and that means a lot to me!” – says writer-director Siddharth.
Amar Colony is a fictitious story of three women who live a life of regret and loneliness in the hills of Shimla. Written & Directed by Siddharth Chauhan, the film is at its post production stage right now.
“A dilapidated wooden structure in Jakhu – ‘Titla Hotel’ inspired me to write this
film. I still find it very fascinating and full of numerous stories waiting to be told. I always hesitate from entering that building because I am afraid that it’s reality might kill my romanticized imagination!” – says Siddharth.
Amar Colony features an ensemble cast with the following actors in lead roles: Nimisha Nair from Delhi, Sangeeta Agrawal from US, Sreejith Vijay from Kerala, Ayush Shrivastava & Rohit Agrawal from Mumbai and Deepak Sharma, Usha Chauhan, Yash Thakur, Anuj Sharma & Vandana Thakur from Shimla.
The film was made with the help of a core team from Shimla which had 10
members including: Ish Sharma, Ankit Rathore, Chahat Arora, Disha Bhardwaj, Adarsh Sehra, Akshay Kumar, Akshit Vashisht, Diksha Rathore and Pooja Jeeran.
Produced by Nisheeth Kumar from Indie Film Collective ( who also co-produced Gurvinder Singh’s latest film – Khanaur which premiered at the Busan
International Film Festival) Amar Colony was shot in a span of 30 days in Shimla at various locations like the YWCA, US Club, Shimla General Post Office on the Mall, St Thomas School, Oak Tree House in Bharari and at Baldeyan. Parts of it were also filmed in Lower Bazaar and Sabzi Mandi, Shimla.
Amar Colony is expected to hit festivals early next year!
