Shimla, Jun – Director-General of Himachal Pradesh Police Sanjay Kundu tested negative for the Corona Virus \at IGMC microbiology lab as a sample of Kundu and 32 other officers were drawn today, a senior officer of PoliceHeadquarters informed UNI.
Superintendent of Police and Spokesman of state Police Khushal Sharma said that DGP’s samples found negative for the Covid-19 today at IGMC while the report of the other 32 officials is expected to come by late this evening.
As stated earlier that a COVID patient who died in New Delhi today was tested positive on Monday. The patient was in Shimla on Jun 1 and met with DGP at state police headquarters to great him after he taking charge of the state police chief.
Kundu revealed today that he had met with the deceased person at Shimla and he died at New Delhi today. After the information, Kundu and 32 other police officials went to self-isolation and their samples were drawn by the health officials according to the COVID-protocol.
Sharma said that the information came from IGMC said that Kundu’s samples tested negative for the Covid-19 and report of rest 32 police personals are expected late this evening.
He said that as per the protocol Kundu’s samples would be revised after a few days and he expected to remain in-home quarantine. Entire premises of Police Headquarter where the deceased persons enter in DGP chamber has been sealed and before sanitizing it properly.
Earlier today along with Kundu samples of 33 police personals were drawn to test in them in the COVID testing labs at IGMC Shimla.
The state reports 437 cases of Covid-19 as 16 new cases were registered alone today.
