Cycling Association calls on Governor

On the occasion of World Bicycle Day, Dinesh Malhotra, President, Cycling Association of Himachal Pradesh and former IAS officer called on Governor Bandaru Dattatraya at Raj Bhavan, today and briefed him about the activities of the Association to promote cycling in the State.

The Governor appreciated their initiative regarding the promotion of cycling activities and said, “As the world is grappling with the aftermath of COVID-19 which has changed the way we live and it is felt that cycling has a lot of potential in our State if properly channelized in the era”.

He said that cycling was the most sustainable form of transportation, as it was also the healthiest. He added that the country has a lot of beautiful destination, which could be perfect places for popularizing cycling tourism. Himachal Pradesh and certain specific areas of it could rank very high on that list.   

Shri Malhotra said that the Association has been conceptualized and formed to provide a platform and vision to develop the sports of cycling in the State and also to make cycling as a popular activity for the promotion of tourism, health and fitness among the people of the State.

Mohit Chawla, ADC to Governor and honorary secretary of the association and other members were also present on the occasion.
