• State Government effectively taken up issue of according tribal status to Hatti Community with Centre Government: Jai Ram Thakur
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, while addressing the massive public meeting at Renuka ji, in Renuka ji Assembly Constituency area of Sirmour district today as part of ‘Pragatisheel Himachal: Sathapna Ke 75 Varsh’ programme, being celebrated to commemorate 75 years of existence of Himachal Pradesh, said that the State Government has effectively taken up the issue of according tribal status to Hatti Community of the district and the Centre Government would soon come up with good news for the people of Sirmour in general and Hatti community in particular.
Chief Minister said that when today the whole nation was celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Himachal Pradesh was also celebrating 75 years of its existence. He said that Sirmour district was a pioneer in the existence of the State as it was the son of the soil Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar, who not only spearheaded the struggle for separate identity for the State, but he also served as the first Chief Minister of the State. He said that the State during all these years ensured splendid progress in all spheres of development.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government has decided to celebrate this historic occasion in a befitting manner. He said that this has been done to pay respect and recognize the services of the people who had made his/her contribution for making Himachal Pradesh where it stands today.
Chief Minister said that the State had made unmatched progress in all spheres of development. He said that the literacy rate which was only 4.8 per cent at the time of formation of Himachal Pradesh has today gone up to 83 percent. He said that road length has gone from 288 kms in 1948 to 39,500 kms and the number of health institutions from 88 in the year 1948 to 4320 today. He said that there were only 301 educational institutions in the State at the time of its formation, whereas today the number has gone up to 16,124. He said that per capita income was only Rs. 240 which today has crossed the magical mark of Rs. 2 lakh. He said that people of the State used to cross rivers with the help of inflated skin of buffalo, whereas today there are over 2,326 bridges in the State.
Jai Ram Thakur said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has special attachment with the people of the State. He said that the Prime Minister considers Himachal Pradesh as his second home. He said that during the present tenure of the State Government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited the State seven times. He said that during his visit to Shimla on the occasion of completion of eight years tenure of the NDA Government at Centre, the Prime Minister walked through The Mall Road and even interacted with the people. He said that it was strange that these visits of the Prime Minister were not going well with opposition leaders. He reminded these leaders that it was due to the benevolence of the Prime Minister that the State got special financial assistance of Rs. 800 crore and also decided to provide 90:10 shares of the Centre and State in Central developmental projects. He said that Congress was a sinking ship and most of its leaders were quitting the party as they know that the party has lost its base in the country.
Chief Minister said that during the lockdown lakhs of people of the State got stuck in different parts of the country. He said that as many as 2.50 lakh people were safely brought home by the State Government. He said that thousands of youths were brought home from Goa by special trains and from Kota in Rajasthan by sending special 50 HRTC buses. He thanked the people of the State for their wholehearted support to the Government to come out from this crisis. He said that the Prime Minister not only motivated the scientists of the country to develop indigenous vaccine, but also successfully launched the biggest free vaccination campaign of the world. He thanked the people of the State and all the frontline workers for their cooperation and support to check the spread of this pandemic, due to which Himachal Pradesh emerged first State in the country to achieve the target of cent percent vaccination of eligible groups.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the present State Government has also completed over four years and nine months in office and all these years have ensured a balanced and all-round development of the State. He said that the present Government was spending over Rs. 1300 crore annually on providing social security pension to the needy as compared to only Rs. 400 crore spent by the previous State Government. He said that HIMCARE, Sahara Yojna, Mukya Mantri Grihini Suvidha Yojna and Mukhya Mantri Shagun Yojna have provided much needed relief to the needy and poor. He said that 50 percent concession in bus fare was being provided to women passengers in HRTC buses and 125 units free power was also being provided to the domestic consumers.
He announced naming Government Senior Secondary School Kudlakhadak as Saheed Prashant Thakur Government Senior Secondary School Kudlakhadak as a mark of respect to the martyr of the area.
Referring to the development in Renuka ji Vidhan Sabha area during the tenure of the present State Government, the Chief Minister said that an amount of Rs. 62.95 crore has been spent during this period under Jal Jeevan Mission on construction of 20 drinking water supply schemes and Rs. 10.56 crore on Khala-Kayar-Koti road. He said that a Mini Secretariat building has been constructed at Sangrah by spending an amount of Rs. 7.07 crore. He said that Degree College was provided in the area and over 175 kms roads have been constructed in the area. He said that as many as 4,643 free gas connections have been provided to beneficiaries under the Mukhya Mantri Grihini Suvidha Yojna in the district. In addition to this, a 33/11 KV Electric Sub Station has also been dedicated to the people of Sangrah, he added.
Earlier, the Chief Minister visited famous Maa Renuka ji and Parshuram Temple and performed Puja. He was accorded a rousing welcome on his arrival at Renuka.
Member of Parliament and State BJP President Suresh Kashyap said that the whole Sirmour district has witnessed unparalleled development during the tenure of the present State Government and credit of this goes to the special benevolence the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur shares with the people of the district. He said that the State during the last four years and nine months has ensured equitable and balanced development of all areas of the State with special focus on those areas which had remained neglected due to one reason or another. He urged the people of the area to give their wholehearted support to the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
Former MLA Roop Singh, former Chairman State Scheduled Castes Development Corporation Balbir Chauhan, Mandal BJP President Suneel Sharma and local leader Narain Singh welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion.
Power Minister Sukh Ram Chaudhary, former Speaker State Vidhan Sabha and MLA Nahan Dr. Rajeev Bindal, District BJP President Vinay Gupta, Chairperson Zila Parishad Seema Kaniyal, Chairman BDC Sangrah Mela Ram Sharma, BJP Working Committee Member Sahi Ram Chauhan, APMC Chairman Rameshwar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Ram Kumar Gautam and Superintendent of Police Omapati Jamwal were also present on the occasion among others.
