Announces upgradation of 150 bedded Civil Hospital Theog to 200 bedded hospital and opening of sub tehsils at Matiyana and Baragaon
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur performed inaugurations and foundation stones of 19 developmental projects worth about Rs. 82 crore in Theog Vidhan Sabha Constituency of Shimla district today.
While addressing a mammoth gathering at Potato ground at Theog, the Chief Minister announced upgradation of 150 bedded Civil Hospital, Theog to 200 bedded hospital, opening of sub tehsils at Matiyana and Baragaon, upgradation of Primary Health Centre Matiyana to Community Health Centre, Rs. 25 lakh for beautification of Nehru Ground (Potato ground. He announced the Prem Ghat Chowk would be named as Atal Chowk as mark of respect to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and also announced State level status to the Rehali Mela Theog. He also announced the upgradation of four schools of the area besides starting science classes in one Government Senior Secondary School of the area. He also announced Rs. 2 lakh to the Mela committee for successful organization of this fair.
Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a new concept to celebrate the 75 years of Independence in a befitting manner as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. He said that the State Government has also decided to celebrate 75 years of existence of Himachal Pradesh by organizing 75 events throughout the State. He said that these events would showcase the glorious developmental journey of Himachal Pradesh during the last 75 years. He said that every Chief Minister of the State has made his contribution in development and progress of the State, but the biggest contribution was of every hard working and honest Himachali.
While paying rich tributes to the former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary, the Chief Minister said that Atal ji has great love and affection towards the people of the State and always considered Himachal Pradesh his second home. He said that despite his busy schedule, Atal Bihari Vajpayee used to regularly visit the State. He said that Theog has also made a considerable contribution in the independence of the country. He said that Theog was also gradually emerging as a tourist destination as several hotels and home stays have come up in the area.
Jai Ram Thakur said that Himachal Pradesh during these 75 years have made unparalleled progress in all spheres of development. He said that the credit of this goes to the hardworking and dedicated people of the State, besides able leadership provided in the State from time to time. He said that at the time of formation of the State, there were only four districts, whereas today the State has 12 districts. He said that the literacy rate of the State in 1948 was 4.8 percent, whereas today the literacy rate of the State is over 83 percent. He said that the hilly States like Himachal Pradesh, the roads were lifelines for development and the successive Governments of the State laid special focus for construction of the roads. He said that Rs. 60,000 crore Pradhan Manti Gram Sadak Yojna started by the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and nearly 51 percent roads were constructed under this scheme.
Chief Minister accused the opposition leaders of even politicizing and tried to mislead the people of the country regarding the biggest vaccination campaign of the world, by terming it the Modi vaccine. He said that now the same leaders have got themselves vaccinated. He said that the people of Himachal Pradesh gave their wholehearted cooperation in this vaccination campaign and the State has emerged as first State in the country in cent percent vaccination of eligible population. He said that Rs.100 crore Market Yard Parala would be dedicated to the people of the area soon, which would go a long way in benefitting the horticulturists of the district.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government has decided to provide reimbursement of 6 percent subsidy on purchase of packaging material i.e. cartons and trays whether procured through HPMC or open market with effect from 1st April, 2022 after producing GST paid bill of cartons and trays, sale proof and Aadhaar linked bank account details to provide relief to the horticulturists of the State.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated Rs.15 crore Civil Hospital, Theog Phase-I, Rs. 1.26 crore Treasury Office building at Theog, Rs. 2.39 crore Sanskrit College at Kiartoo, Rs.3.36 crore metalling and tarring on Nangal Devi Naleha road, Rs. 2.69 crore metalling and tarring on Jai Palana road, Rs. 2.45 crore metalling and tarring on Sarog Kadyog road, Rs. 5.58 crore metalling and tarring on Bhekhalty Dharech Gawech Sidhpur road, Rs. 4.70 crore metalling and tarring on Tiyali Mandir Nannu road, Rs. 3.33 crore metalling and tarring on Runkali Chikhar Daniwal road, Rs. 1.77 crore metalling and tarring on Kot Chunjar road, Rs. 76 lakh upgradation and modernization of Subzi Mandi Theog, Rs. 1.13 crore office building of Jal Shakti Sub Division Theog and Rs. 60 lakh lift drinking water supply scheme Dhelogar khadto Palath in GP Mohri.
Chief Minister laid foundation stones of Rs. 10 crore New Civil Hospital at Theog, Phase-II, Rs. 1.64 crore LIS from Giri khad to Harizan Basti Dhalli Dhar Shirguli in GP Sainj, Rs. 5.70 crore Kiaral Karana via Soi road, Rs. 5.38 crore improvement and upgradation of Sarion Basa Mahog Sandhu via Halai road, Rs. 1.72 crore bridge at Samti over Giri river in GP Nahol and Rs. 12.37 crore upgradation of Chhaila Kenchi to Sainj road.
Chief Minister was accorded a rousing welcome on his arrival at Theog and various social, cultural and political organizations honoured the Chief Minister on the occasion.
Students of Ishan Public School presented a cheque of Rs. 21000 to the Chief Minister from their pocket money towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
A theme song on 75 years of existence of Himachal Pradesh was also sung on the occasion.
A documentary based on 75 years of glorious journey of Himachal Pradesh produced by the Information and Public Relations Department was also screened on the occasion.
Member of Parliament Suresh Kashyap said that the eight years tenure of the NDA Government in the country has been remarkable in the history of the country. He said that India has emerged a world power under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the State was forging ahead on the path of progress and prosperity under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. He also urged the Chief Minister to give State level status to district level Rehali Mela Theog.
MLA Theog Rakesh Singha, while welcoming the Chief Minister in his constituency, said that Theog being the gateway of upper Shimla needs to be given special attention in matter of development. He termed the Chief Minister as the most popular Chief Minister of the State who has always given top most priority to development of those areas that remained neglected due to one reason or another.
Chairman APMC Naresh Sharma, while welcoming the Chief Minister, said that Theog was probably the first princely State of the country where a democratically elected Government was elected through a peaceful revolt against the then ruler of the Theog State. He said that during the corona pandemic, the Chief Minister ensured that the farmers and horticulturists of the area may take their produce to the markets without delay. He also apprised the Chief Minister about various demands of the area.
