Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth about Rs. 94.14 crore in Sarkaghat Vidhan Sabha area of Mandi district through video conferencing from Shimla today.
Jai Ram Thakur dedicated Rs. 10.46 crore building of Government Degree College at Baldwara, Rs. 2.97 crore additional accommodation at Government Senior Secondary School Paunta and Rs. 99 lakh Lift Water Supply Scheme for habitations of Patrighat and its adjoining villages in Tehsil Baldwara.
Chief Minister laid foundation stones of Rs. 51.76 crore Multi Villages Rural Piped Water Supply Scheme for Baldwara, Bhadrota and part of Gopalpur Block, Rs. 20.35 crore upgradation of Sarkaghat Maseran Baggi road, Rs. 1.42 crore Science Lab at Government Senior Secondary School, Thona, Rs. 1.32 crore Science Lab at Government Senior Secondary School, Paunta, Rs. 1.04 crore additional accommodation at Government Senior Secondary School Rissa, Rs. 1.03 crore Lift Water Supply Schemes to partially covered habitations of Garouru Chimba Ra Balh in Gram Panchayat Pingla in tehsil Sarkaghat, Rs. 95 lakh Science Lab at Government Senior Secondary School Chowk, Rs. 95 lakh Science Lab at Government Senior Secondary School, Patrighat and 90 lakh Wrestling Stadium at Baira (Pingla).
While addressing the virtual rally, Jai Ram Thakur said that today he had inaugurated three developmental projects worth Rs 14.42 crore and also laid foundation stones of 9 projects worth Rs 79.72 crore. He said that it would be a memorable event had he himself been able to visit the area. He said that this was not possible due to Corona pandemic.
Chief Minister said that in this Corona pandemic the Government was ensuring that pace of development does not get hampered. He said that for this the Government has decided to lay foundation stones and inaugurations virtually. He thanked the people of Sarkaghat for contributing Rs 22 lakh for CM Covid Fund and also distributing 650 Modi Ration Kits to the needy people during the lock down. He said that this had helped the people during the time of distress. He also urged the people to remain vigilant against this virus as the crisis was not yet over.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the strong and able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured that the pandemic has lesser effects in the country as compared to other developed countries. He said that with timely decisions taken by the Prime Minister, India has reported about 60,000 deaths as compared to over 7 lakh deaths reported by 15 most developed nations with a population of about 142 crore. He said that Himachal Pradesh Government has also taken effective steps to check the spread of this virus. Even the Prime Minister has appreciated the steps taken by the State Government to contain this virus, he added.
Chief Minister said that over 2.50 lakh Himachali stranded in different parts of the country, were brought back to the State. He said that the State Government was ensuring proper treatment of Corona patients. He also thanked the Corona warriors for rendering great services to tackle this crisis. He said that all the projects which were being executed in the area should be completed within the stipulated time period. He said that channelisation of Seer Khad would protect thousands of acres of fertile land of the area. He said that the announcements made by him during his visit to the area would come into reality at the earliest.
Jai Ram Thakur thanked the Prime Minister for providing 1.60 lakh PPE Kits, 500 ventilators and three lakh N-95 masks to the State to effectively fight this pandemic. He said that CM helpline 1100 has proved a boon to the people of the State for redressal of their grievances. He said that the State has provided 2.78 lakh families free gas connections under the Grihini Suvidha Yojna. He said that over 8.75 lakh farmers of the State had been benefitted under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna.
Jal Shakti, Horticulture and Revenue Minister Mahender Singh Thakur said that the youth of Sarkaghat would immensely be benefitted by the Coaching Training Academy being setup at Sarkaghat by spending at a cost of Rs 30 crore. He said that free coaching would be imparting to the youth willing to join the Armed Forces to serve the Nation. He said that Seer Khad of the area would be channelised by spending Rs. 158 crore and investment clearance has been accorded by the Union Government regarding this project.
Member of Parliament Ram Swaroop Sharma said that the people of the State were fortunate to have a simple, hardworking and honest Chief Minister to lead the State on path of progress and prosperity. He said that several historic decisions were taken by the State Government which include reducing the age for availing benefits of old age pension, Jan Manch for redressal of public grievances, Sahara Yojna to provide financial assistance to families with critically ill patient, Grihini Suvidha Yojna for providing free gas connection to 2.78 lakh households. He also detailed various developmental schemes launched by the Union Government, besides listing several historic decisions taken by the Centre Government during the last about six years.
While welcoming the Chief Minister and other dignitaries in the virtual rally, from Baldwara in Sarkaghat, local MLA Col. Inder Singh thanked Chief Minister for dedicating and laying foundation stones of developmental projects worth crores of rupees for Sarkaghat area. He said that it was due to the timely steps taken by the State Government, that even after over 2.50 lakh people stranded in different parts of the country were brought back to the State, the number of Covid patients were far less as compared to neighbouring States. He said that the Rs 51.76 crore drinking water Supply Scheme for Baldwara, Bhadrota and Gopalpur Block would provide better drinking water facilities to about 41 thousand population of the area. He also thanked the Chief Minister for being considerate towards the developmental demands of the area. He also urged the Chief Minister for starting Science classes in Degree College Baldwara.
Chairman APMC and President District BJP Dalip Thakur also expressed his views on the occasion.
