Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated Girl’s Hostel in Government Polytechnic College Sundernagar in Mandi district today constructed at a cost of Rs 3.25 crore.
Chief Minister said that this Girls Hostel has been constructed in a record time of 16 months, for which he appreciated the efforts of the BSNL, the executing agency. He said that the hostel would provide better boarding facilities to about 69 girls and has been equipped with all modern facilities. He said that with the construction of this hostel, long pending demand of the girl students of the Polytechnic College has been fulfilled.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the present State Government was committed to strengthen existing educational institutions in the State, so that the students could get better educational facilities.
Later, The Chief Minister also inspected under construction Make Shift Prefabricated Hospital at Bhangrotu in Mandi district and directed the officers to ensure time-bound completion of the project.
Technical Education Minister Dr. Ram Lal Markanda, MLA Rakesh Jamwal, Chairman Nagar Parishad Sundernagar Jitender Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Mandi Rugved Thakur, Superintendent of Police Mandi Shalini Agnihotri, Director Technical Education Vivek Chandel and Executive Engineer BSNL Vijay Kumar Sharma were present on the occasion among others.
