While presiding over the launching ceremony of the State level ‘Swachhta Shramdan Utsav’ launched from Mandi today, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that elected representatives of PRIs must work with greater dedication and zeal to come up to the expectations of the people who have elected them.
Chief Minister said that the elected representatives of the PRIs must ensure that they think out of the box for development of their areas, only then they could put up a lasting impression on the people of their area. He said that there was no dearth of funds in the panchayats and only thing required was strong commitment and zeal to work for welfare and development of their respective areas. He said that the elected representatives of the PRIs must also come forward to effectively disseminate the welfare and development policies of the State Government so that maximum number of people could be benefitted.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the elected representatives must also assist the people in deriving benefits of various schemes. He said that the Swachhta Shramdan Utsav would be held throughout the State for a week till 15th of August. He said that all the Panchayati Raj Institutions in the State would clean the water tanks and other water sources in schools in their respective areas and all Mahila Mandal, Yuvak Mandal and other social organizations would cooperate in this endeavour. He said that all the departments should also ensure cleanliness of their respective offices.
MLA Drang Jawahar Thakur welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries on this occasion.
MLAs Inder Singh Gandhi and Prakash Rana, Chairman Zila Parishad Pal Verma, Director Rural Development Rugved Thakur, Deputy Mayor Mandi Municipal Corporation Rajinder Bhutt and elected representatives of PRIs were present on the occasion.
