Presides over ‘Pragtisheel Himachal: Sathapna Ke 75 Varsh’ function at Lylh
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 23 developmental works worth Rs. 83.42 crore at Lylh for Bharmour vidhan sabha area of Chamba district today.
Chief Minister said while addressing a mammoth public meeting at Lylh on the occasion of ‘Pragtisheel Himachal: Sathapna Ke 75 Varsh’ function celebrated to commemorate 75 years of existence of Himachal Pradesh that the State Government would take up the matter of declaring 17 odd non tribal panchayats of Bharmour as tribal area with the Union Government.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the Union Government had selected Chamba district of the State as an aspirational district to ensure additional funds for development. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had always been considerate towards the developmental aspirations of the people of the State and shared special bonding with the State. He said that Prime Minister had visited the State on 5th of this month and now was again visiting Chamba on 13th of this month. He said that this shows the concern of the Prime Minister towards development of the State. He said that Narendra Modi would be the first Prime Minister of the country to address a public meeting at Chamba.
Chief Minister said that the opposition leaders get perturbed by seeing the massive crowd in the BJP’s functions and events. He said that the Congress was a sinking ship and most of its leaders were leaving the party as they knew that the party was a futureless, issueless and leaderless party. He said that out of the four State Working Presidents of the Congress, two had joined the BJP. He said that why would the people of the country choose a party whose national leader measures wheat flour in litre. He said that people of the State had made up their mind to once again elect BJP Government in the State by breaking the jinx that the Government does not repeat in Himachal. He said that one of the young congress leaders in the State claims that even the big leader like Virbhadra Singh could not bring back the sitting government to power, how can a common man like him accomplish this feat. Chief Minister urged the people to give a befitting reply to such opposition leaders.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government had given special emphasis on women empowerment and their upliftment. He said that the State Government was providing 50 percent concession on fare for women in HRTC buses from the month of July this year and free power upto 125 units per month to the consumers of the State. He said that the State Government was also providing free water in rural areas of the State. He said that this was not going well with the Congress leaders and they were accusing the State Government for making the people of the State habitual of freebies. He said that now the same leaders were claiming that they would provide 300 unit free power when voted to power.
Chief Minister said that on the one hand the nation was celebrating ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Himachal Pradesh on the other hand was also celebrating 75 years of its existence. He said that these 75 years had been witness to an eventful developmental journey of the State. He said that every citizen of this State had made his/her contribution in this developmental voyage of the State. The contribution of every Chief Minister of the State had also remained immense in making this State one of the most developed States of the country, he added.
Referring to the development of the Bharmour area, Chief Minister said that more focus must be laid on construction and maintenance of roads and bridges in the area. He urged the people to give their wholehearted support to the Government, so that the pace of development goes uninterrupted. He said that all the genuine demands of the area would be considered sympathetically.
Jai Ram Thakur said that schemes such as HIMCARE, Sahara Yojna, Grihini Suvidha Yojna, Mukhiya Mantri Swabalamban Yojna, Shagun Yojna etc. had provided a helping hand to every household in need. He said that social security pension had been enhanced considerably and the age limit for availing old age pension without income limit had been lowered first from 80 years to 70 years and now further reduced to 60 years. He said that an amount of Rs. 1300 crore was being spent on providing social security pension to the needy.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated seven developmental works worth Rs. 12.63 crore which includes Rs. 1.48 crore science block of Government Senior Secondary School Runukothi, Rs. 76 lakh Ayurvedic Health Centre Bharmour building, Rs. 1.12 crore stage/stadium at Ramleela Ground Pangi Killar, Rs. 97 lakh residential building of Sub divisional Ayurvedic officer, Rs. 4 crore Type-III quarters for doctors and employees at Kilar, Rs. 1.30 crore lift irrigation scheme for Raadi village and Rs. 3 crore Hadsar sewerage scheme.
Chief Minister also laid foundation stones of 16 developmental projects worth Rs. 70.79 crore which includes Rs. 7.30 crore Holi-Utrala Road, Rs 7.88 crore Dunali to Uppar Lylh road, Rs/ 1 crore additional building for PHC Churi, Rs. 40 lakh link road to Trilochan Mahadev village, Rs. 3.95 crore Type-II quarters for employees of Civil Hospital Kilar, Rs. 17.82 crore sewerage scheme for Bharmour and nearby areas, Rs. 19.18 crore Sewerage scheme for Garola and other villages in tehsil Bharmour, Rs. 1.27 crore water supply scheme Kugti, Rs. 2.68 crore augmentation of Lift water supply scheme Garola, Rs. 90 lakh water supply scheme for Guward Tilla village, Rs. 1.57 crore improvement of Ghoranda water supply scheme, Rs. 2.22 crore office and residential accommodation of Assistant Engineer Holi Sub Division, Rs. 2.20 crore water supply scheme for Hatad, Sahali Jayari and Niya villages, Rs. 1.06 crore jeepable road to lift water supply scheme at Lahal, Rs. 73 lakh improvement of irrigation scheme Mehla Tippari in gram panchayat Mehla and Rs. 65 lakh water supply scheme Holi in gram panchayat Holi.
MLA Bharmour Jia Lal Kapoor, while welcoming the Chief Minister said that Bharmour region had witnessed an unparalleled development during the tenure of the present State Government. He also detailed a few developmental demands of the area.
