Urges for strengthening Vet Institutions of the State
Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister, Chander Kumar called on Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Parshottam Rupala at New Delhi today.
The Minister held detailed discussions about the Animal Husbandry and Dairy development projects being funded by Government of India and apprised the Union Minister about their current status besides the steps being taken by the State Government to strengthen the economy of the farmers by promoting the dairy activities on large scale besides strengthening the Milk Producer’s Cooperative Societies. The State Government also intends to strengthen the rural economy by incurring an amount of Rs. 1000 crore, said Sh. Kumar.
Chander Kumar requested to provide support for strengthening of existing veterinary hospitals and dispensaries besides exploring possibilities for starting new projects for the welfare of Gaddi and Gujjar communities and providing insurance for the livestock. He also requested for providing Foot and Mouth disease resistant vaccine for livestock of the state.
Sh Rupala assured of full cooperation for promoting animal husbandry and dairy development activities in Himachal Pradesh.
MLA Shahpur, Kewal Singh Pathania and other senior officers of Animal Husbandry department were present in the meeting.
