Bikram Singh called on Union Jal Shakti Minister

Industries Minister Bikram Singh called on Union Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat at New Delhi today.

He requested the Union Minister to release Rs. 2394.32 lakh for completing 11 schemes approved in three phases for Jaswan Pragpur constituency in Kangra district under Jal Jeevan Mission for providing Har Ghar Nal se Jal. He apprised the minister that Rs. 1043.56 lakh have been allotted for the schemes against which Rs. 776.55 lakh have already been spent. He urged the Union Minister to release the rest of the amount required so that the schemes may be completed soon.

He further informed the Union Minister that Jaswan Pragpur was a far flung area and has lot of Khuds which cause erosion to adjacent areas in rainy season. He said that flood protection and anti-erosion measures are required to be undertaken in the areas and added that keeping this in view a detailed project report amounting to Rs. 505.71 crores has been submitted to Central Water Commission. He urged the Union Minister for according approval for the same.

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat assured Bikram Singh of all possible assistance.
