Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur addressed public meetings at Bakhali and Hanogi during a one day tour of his home assembly constituency Seraj today evening.
While addressing a public meeting at Bakhali, the Chief Minister said that the State government had implemented various welfare schemes for the upliftment of the downtrodden and needy people. He said that the State government had been working day and night for the overall development of Himachal Pradesh and welfare of the people. Chief Minister said that he had visited more than 60 assembly constituencies of the state in the last three months.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the State government was very sensitive towards the problems of the people and started Janmanch and Chief Minister Seva Sankalp Helpline 1100 to resolve the grievances of the people at their doorstep. He said that Bakhali was the first booth of the Seraj assembly constituency and in the upcoming assembly election, a tremendous wave in favour of BJP would start from this booth. He said that BJP had a lead of about 37 thousand votes in Seraj assembly constituency during the last general elections for Lok Sabha in 2019, which was more than the assembly constituency of any Chief Ministers in the past. He hoped that the people of the Seraj would give a record lead in the upcoming elections also.
The Chief Minister announced Rs. 2 crore for the construction of building of PHC Bandal, establishment of a health sub-centre at Bakhali and upgradation of Government Middle School Sumanidhar to High School. He said that primary school Bakhali would be upgraded to middle school if fulfilling the criteria of the required number of students.
Chief Minister said that efforts would be made to run steamers and boats in the Pandoh reservoir near Bakhali Nature Park in coordination with the Bhakra Beas Management Board, which would facilitate the local people and boost tourism activities. He said that a ropeway to Maa Baglamukhi Temple had been sanctioned with an estimated cost of about Rs. 50 crore. He said that it would be the first ropeway project of its kind in Himachal Pradesh. Chief Minister said that Bakhali Nature Park would also be connected by the ropeway.
Earlier, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Tandi Amravati Thakur welcomed the Chief Minister and put forth the demands of the area.
Earlier, the Chief Minister offered prayers at Maa Baglamukhi Temple along with his wife Dr. Sadhana Thakur. They also planted saplings in Bakhali Nature Park.
Later in the evening the Chief Minister inaugurated Rs. 25 crore cable-stayed bridge on the river Beas near Hanogi connecting Drang and Seraj assembly constituencies. While addressing the public meeting at Hanogi, Jai Ram Thakur said that he had laid the foundation stone of this bridge in the year 2018. He said that this was the first bridge of its kind in the state and it would provide better transportation facilities to the people of Seraj and Drang constituency.
The Chief Minister also announced Rs. 10 lakh each for 4 nearby gram panchayats and Rs. 5 lakh each for 2 nearby Gram Panchayats for various developmental projects.
He also paid obeisance at Hanogi Mata Temple on the occasion of Sharad Navratri.
MLA Drang Jawahar Thakur also spoke on the occasion.
