Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was accorded a civic felicitation on the occasion of National Executive Council meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Shimla, today.
While speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the ABVP has always been vigilantly working towards protection of student rights, national interest and upliftment of society. He said that the contribution of ABVP during disaster management has always been remarkable. He said that ABVP has set an example during covid pandemic with their active involvement by extending all possible assistance to the needy.
Jai Ram Thakur appreciated the efforts of ABVP in organising several blood donation camps and steps taken towards environment protection. He said that such endeavours provide motivation to others as well. He also recalled his works as ABVP worker and shared his experiences during that period.
He said that many positive changes have been witnessed in education sector in the state and various steps have been taken to provide education according to Indian values. The New Education Policy was successfully being implemented in the state. He said that the state government has ensured quality education from primary education to University level and effective steps have been taken in this direction. The innovative steps taken by the state government in education sector have been appreciated at National level as well.
Chief Minister said that state government has launched several flagship schemes to strengthen education sector and to provide quality education. Massive progress has been made in technical education and higher education sector. The state has witnessed immense transformation in education sector.
The Chief Minister also released Himachali Swatantra Veeron Ka Parichay, a book by the Students for Holistic Development of Humanity (Research) Foundation on this occasion.

National President of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad Prof. Chhaganbhai Patel and National General Secretary Nidhi Tripathi also spoke on the occasion.
