Chief Minister Announces Degree College at Sataun and Medical Block at Kaffota and PHCs at Balikoti and Halah
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur during his one-day tour to Shillai Vidhan Sabha area of Sirmour district today inaugurated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth about Rs. 20 crore which includes three inaugurations worth Rs. 11.61 crore and eleven foundation stones worth Rs. 8.14 crore. He inaugurated SDM (Civil) office at Kaffota, Rs. 11.15 crore building of Government Degree College Kaffota and Rs. 46 lakh Lift Water Supply Scheme for Kiyana basti in Gram Panchayat Kota Pab. He also planted a sapling in the campus of Degree College Kaffota and a sapling of ‘Arjun’ plant in the campus of newly inaugurated SDM campus.
Chief Minister laid foundation stones of Rs.1.01 crore Solar based Water Supply Scheme for Khun Bag and Dhochi Bias Bizui in Shillai tehsil under Jal Jeevan Mission, Rs. 1.60 crore Lift Water Supply Scheme Kando-Cheog-Thana under NABARD in Paonta Sahib Tehsil, Rs. 60 lakh Flow Irrigation Scheme Sainga in Gram Panchayat Kando Cheog under NABARD, Rs. 1.03 crore Ground Water Supply Scheme in Gram Panchayat Chandni in Kamaru Tehsil under Jal Jeevan Mission, Rs. 1.38 crore Primary Health Centre Building at Timbi and Rs. 2.53 crore Primary Health Centre Building at Kamaru.
While addressing a largely attended public meeting at Pab village, Kaffota, the Chief Minister said that Shillai area and Seraj area were not only geographically similar, but the area also shares common tradition, culture and developmental requirements. He said that during this period, the State Government ensured that all the developmental demands of the area were fulfilled. He said that despite almost two years of the present tenure being adversely affected due to the Corona pandemic, the Government ensured the process of development goes uninterrupted.
Jai Ram Thakur said that Congress leadership in the State was in a state of fix after the recently held elections in four States of the country. He said that the BJP won in all these States with a massive margin and Congress was completely rejected by the people of these States. He said that BJP succeeded in regaining power in all the four states and now the people of the State have also made up their mind to repeat the BJP Government in the State. He said that the Congress leaders have no issue against the State Government and were busy in infighting and prove supremacy over one another.
Chief Minister said that the Congress Government during their last tenure did nothing for development of the State and welfare of the people of the State. He said that not even a single scheme was started by the Congress Government, whereas the present State Government has initiated several schemes for the welfare of the poor and downtrodden. He said that Rs. 1300 crore were being spent on providing social security pension to the needy this year as compared to only Rs. 400 crore spent during the Congress tenure. He said that Himachal Ghirini Suvidha Yojna, Mukhya Mantri HIMCARE, Sahara Yojna, Mukhya Mantri Swablamban Yojna, Shagun Yojna etc. have proved boon to the people of the State.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the nation today was headed by a strong leadership in the form of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that now the country has emerged as a power to reckon with and world has acknowledged the might of India. He urged the people of the State to strengthen the hands of the Prime Minister so that India could emerge as ‘Vishva Guru’ in next few years. He said that the State Government was forcefully taking up the issue of declaring Trans Giri area of Sirmour district as Tribal area. He said that he has personally taken up this issue with the Union Home Minister. He said that he would again meet the Union Home Minister alongwith a delegation of Haati Community so that area should be given tribal status.
Chief Minister announced opening of Degree College at Sataun, Medical Block at Kaffota, opening of PHCs at Balikoti and Halah, upgradation of PHC Kamrao to CHC, opening of Health Sub Centres at Kahrkah and Shilli Agadh, providing 10 beds at PHC Jakhna. He also announced upgradation of a few schools of the area. He also announced that adequate arrangement of funds would be made for link roads of the area. He also announced opening of Sub Tehsil at Sataun. He also announced plying of Mudrika bus at Kaffota. He also announced that the new Degree College Kaffota would be named as Swami Vivekanand Government Degree College, Kaffota and Degree College Shillai as Vir Savarkar Government Degree College, Shillai, opening of Sports Hostel at Jakhna. He also announced Rs. 10 lakh for the Pab ground where the public meeting was held.
Various social, political organizations, Haati Committee Kaffota and other organizations also honoured the Chief Minister on the occasion.
MP and State BJP President Suresh Kashyap thanked the Chief Minister for initiating various welfare schemes in the budget presented by him for the financial year 2022-23. He said that whole Sirmour district has witnessed unprecedented development during the last over four years.
Vice Chairman State Civil Supplies Corporation Baldev Tomar while welcoming the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion thanked him for dedicating developmental projects worth crores of Rupees for Shillai area. He said that this area was represented by the Congress for almost fifty years, but still the area remained neglected in matter of development. He said that the present tenure of the State Government has ensured all-round development of this area. He also counted various developmental projects sanctioned by the Chief Minister during this period. He said that the Degree College dedicated by the Chief Minister today would go a long way in providing quality education to the students, particularly girls of the area. He also thanked the Chief Minister for empathetically taking up the issue of granting Tribal status to the Trans-Giri area before the central leadership. He also detailed various developmental demands of the area.
