A spokesperson of the State Government said here today that public holidays have been declared on 10, 14, 20, 23 and 27 February, 3 and 7 March, 2022 for registered voters of Uttar Pradesh. On 14 February, 2022 for registered voters of Uttrakhand and 20 February, 2022 for registered voters of Punjab, serving or employed in Himachal Pradesh on account of general election to the State Legislative Assemblies.
The holidays would be applicable to all such government or semi government employees and to employees working in Boards, Corporation, Educational Institutions and Industrial Establishments of Himachal Pradesh who are registered voters of Assembly Constituencies of above states. These holidays would also be paid holidays to daily wages employees and within the meaning of Section 25 of Negotiable Instrument Act 1881.
The spokesperson said the special casual leave may be given to those employees who are working in different places in the state, but have a right to vote in Assembly Constituencies of above states, where general election of State Legislative Assemblies are scheduled to be held, on production of certification from the concerned Presiding Officer that the employee has actually cast his or her vote.
