Inaugurates Tribal Dance and Craft Mela, Museum of late Thakur Sen Negi and flags-off two vehicles of Fire Water Tender
Announces upgradation of CHC Bhawanagar to Civil Hospital and creation of one post of ADM at the district headquarter
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur performed inaugurations and foundation stones of 31 developmental projects of about Rs. 77 crore at Reckong Peo in Kinnaur district today during his one day tour to this tribal district. Later, while addressing the people on the occasion of inauguration ceremony of Five Day long Tribal Dance and Craft Mela Chief Minister said that the State Government was also celebrating this year as Golden Jubilee Year of the Statehood.
He said that the Union Government has provided a financial assistance of Rs. 30 lakh to organize this mega event. He said that the exhibition put up on the occasion was an apt platform for showcasing the tribal handicrafts and handlooms. He said that Kinnaur district was universally known for its colourful culture and traditions.
Jai Ram Thakur said that it was the need of the hour to conserve and preserve the rich culture and traditions of the State. He said that the district has also made great progress in various spheres of development such as horticulture, education, health etc. He said that Himachal Pradesh has achieved target of cent per cent first dose vaccination against Covid-19 and Kinnaur district has pioneered by becoming the first district of the country to achieve the target of cent percent vaccination of second dose. While paying rich tributes to former Speaker of State Vidhan Sabha late Thakur Sen Negi, Chief Minister said that late Negi was not only a great administrator and leader, but also a great champion of the tribal culture. He said that efforts must be made to further strengthen the museum established here. He said that Shyam Saran Negi also hails from this area, who is the first voter of independent India.
Jai Ram Thakur said that being himself from the rural and hilly area he well understands the developmental needs of these areas.
He announced creation of one post of ADM at the district headquarter for better functioning of the administration. He announced opening of PHC at Shobrang and Veterinary dispensary at Gram Panchayat Sungra. He also announced upgradation of CHC Bhawanagar to Civil Hospital and High School Panvi to Senior Secondary School. He said that patwar circle Kanam would be brought under Tehsil Murang from Tehsil Pooh.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Museum of late Thakur Sen Negi, former Vidhan Sabha Speaker. He also paid floral tributes on the Statue of the late leader. He also flagged -off two vehicles of Fire Water Tender. Later, the Chief Minister inaugurated two PSA 250 LPM Oxygen Plants at Regional Hospital, Reckong Peo. While welcoming the Chief Minister, Vice Chairman State Forest Corporation Surat Negi thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating and laying foundation stones of developmental projects worth crores of rupees in this tribal district. He also thanked the Chief Minister for always being considerate towards the developmental needs of the area. He also detailed various developmental demands of the area.
Principal Secretary Revenue and Tribal Development Onkar Sharma said that this Mela was coinciding with the 75 years Amrit Utsav of Independence and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India was endeavouring to preserve the rich culture of the tribal area. He said that the tribal district of Kinnaur was known for its rich and colourful culture. He said that the State Government was committed for development of the tribal area and has initiated several schemes for the area.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman Mela Committee Abid Hussain Sadiq welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. He said that the main objective of organizing this tribal fair was to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the tribal area.
Former MLA Tejwant Negi, Chairman Zila Parishad Nehal, Managing Director HPMC Rajeshwar Goel and Superintendent of Police Kinnaur Ashok Rattan were present on the occasion among others.
