Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur participated in the 1st meeting of the High-Level National Committee headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to commemorate 75 years of India’s independence through video conference at New Delhi today.
The Centre Government has constituted a National Committee under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of India with 259 members including Governors, Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, opposition leaders, dignitaries and eminent citizens from all walks of life.
The Committee will provide policy direction and guidelines for the formulation of programmes for the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence, at national and international levels.
Discussions were held to chalk modalities relating to preparatory activities for the celebrations in the meeting.
