The national Award winner of the National Service Scheme (NSS) and NSS Volunteers from the State, who participated in Republic Day Parade in New Delhi called on Governor Bandaru Dattatraya at Raj Bhavan, today.
The Governor honoured Sumit, a student of Jawaharlal Nehru Government College, Haripur in Kullu district for winning the National Award of NSS for the year 2018-19. He also honoured the students including Satish Tomar from Government College, Sangrah of District Sirmaur, Nikhil Thakur from Government College Daulatpur Chowk of Una District, Kumari Deeksha from Maharana Pratap Government College Amb of Una District, and Monika Kumari from HP University Institute of Legal Studies, Chaura Maidan Shimla who participated in RD parade in New Delhi.
The Governor appreciated the achievements of State NSS wing and said that they were achieving their goals through its activities by providing creative direction to youth power in nation building. He motivated the students to participate in campaigns like environment protection and cleanliness in the State. He emphasized on more cultural exchange programmes. State NSS Officer Dr. H.L. Sharma briefed about the various activities of NSS in the State.
