Deputy Resident Commissioner Himachal Bhawan Vivek Mahajan informed at New Delhi today that representatives and office bearers of various Himachali NGOs based in NCR were contacted on phone. They were urged to come forward in the hour of crisis and join to strengthen the hands of Himachal Pradesh Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur to assist the Himachalis stranded in Delhi NCR and are in distress during lockdown in Delhi due to Covid-19.
He said that Himachal Social Bodies Federation has come forward and offered it’s dharamshala to provide food and lodging facilities. This has the capacity to accommodate 50 persons.
Shri Mahajan thanked Vice Chairman of the Federation K R Verma for this noble gesture.
Apart from this various other members of the Himachal Chapter formed at Delhi came up with different offers in shape of distributing food, ration ,medicines and other relief measures.
Vivek Mahajan appreciated their efforts and thanked them for their timely help. He further apprised that whole Delhi has been divided into zones and these Himachalis associated with this social cause have been asked to look after the needs of their respective zones in active coordination with representatives of Himachal Government at Delhi.
He thanked the Chief Minister for effective monitoring and timely help for the cause of Himachalis stranded at Delhi.
The list of zone wise officers has been kept at control rooms. He also thanked the representatives of Himachal and motivated them by telling them that ‘Together We Win’. Apart from this people in need may contact the Resident Commissioner’s office control room helpline in the time of need which is made functional round the clock.
He also requested them to donate liberally towards the Chief Minister Relief Fund in this hour of need.
Vivek Mahajan thanked the representatives of various NGOs and said that Himachalis at Delhi have set an example of effective community participation which may be emulated by others also in this hour of need.
