10th State Level National Voters day function would be organised on 25th January, 2020 at all district headquarters, constituency headquarters and 7792 voting centers of the state.
A spokesperson of State Election department informed here today that Governor Bandaru Dattatraya would be the chief guest at State level National Voters day function, which would be organised at Gaiety Theatre, Shimla.
He said that the theme of National Voters day is ‘Electoral Literacy for Stronger Democracy’. This day is celebrated every year as per the directions of Election Commission of India, with the objective to identify eligible voters. He said that the names of voters of 18 years old and above are registered in voters list and provided with photo identity card.
The spokesperson informed that 6296 voters in the age group of 18-19 years were registered last year, who were given election photo identity cards during the function of National Voters day.
