55 EVM and VVPAT machines sent to Pangi in Chamba district

Chief Electoral Officer, Himachal Pradesh, C. Paulrasu informed that all necessary steps were being taken to motivate voters to vote during the bye-elections for one Lok Sabha constituency and three Assembly Constituencies scheduled on October 30, 2021. Special arrangements have been made to transport EVMs and other election materials to the polling stations located at high altitudes in the respective constituencies.

He said that 55 EVM and 55 VVPAT machines have been sent under tight security after commissioning to Pangi area falling under Bharmour Assembly Constituency of Chamba district under Mandi Lok Sabha Constituency. During the bye-election of Mandi Lok Sabha Constituency, these EVMs and VVPAT machines would be used for voting in 37 polling stations set up in Pangi area.

He said that all arrangements were being made through the District Election Officers for smooth conduct of the voting process in the polling stations located in geographically hard areas.
